Halloween–my little scarecrow and pumpkin

So, halloween was super fun this year!  I really wanted the girls to coordinate {you’re shocked, I know!} and I really wanted them to still be something baby-ish, at least Adeline.  I decided to go with a non—scary scarecrow and a pumpkin.  I know they don’t really coordinate, but they’re both fall essentials so I just went with it!

My little scarecrow! I just about died of cuteness overload on this one!  She told people that she was a scary scarecrow witch… so yeah.. During October she watched Hocus Pocus a little too often {not age appropriate - momma fail} and was obsessed with witches.  She even tried to hold down the kids in Sunday School and cram a “potion” into their mouths.  yet again… momma fail.  At least I’m her teacher in Sunday School and didn’t have to explain her behavior to anyone!

And my little pumpkin!  I did die of cuteness on this one!  Adeline was a little overwhelmed by all the crowds.  I don’t think she realized there were that many people in the world.. let alone our little town.  She took a little tackle from big sister the day before and had a little scrape under her nose =(

Even I couldn’t get her to smile, which is very unusual!

We ran into our besties… the Allen family!  LOVE these girls to pieces!  A sparkly tiger and Pocahontis!

I have two daddy’s girls on my hands!

Ricky came over trick-or treating for some pictures, and his momma helped us get ready! I had my hands full with two dramatic girls! Sonic the hedgehog was a big hit!

Pre-Halloween fun!

First post of catch up!  One Sunday in October, we went to church and then had plans to go over to Eric’s moms for a pumpkin/Halloween themed afternoon.

I bought these precious bishops from Smocking Beauty and they are so, so precious.  I love them so much and have gotten so many compliments on them!  Not to mention, I got the best pics of the girls that morning, so I had to share!  Gracie is so blurry in most pictures now because she is always on the move.

After church, we went to Mimi’s house for some fall fun!  Both girls had a blast!

The girls’ cousins were there as well, Ella is a month older than Adeline but is so much taller.  Addie is such a short little thing!

Ella and Rhianne, I’m sure the girls are already planning all kinds of trouble for when they’re older!

holy cuteness

So, I totally have a ton to catch up on! Be prepared to be totally bombarded with photos way back to Halloween. In the meantime, I had to share the most precious picture I have ever seen!

5 on Friday

1.  Y'all... I'm crazy! I stopped doing DBB because it was too chaotic and that was great for a while.... then I got antsy to start something again.  Therefore... meet The Southern Stitch.

{and yes, I'm still working my HR job outside the home 4 days a week, eek!}

I wasn't really happy with the way DBB was going, a lot of the stuff wasn't really my style, and I wanted to incorporate a few clothing and accessory items for women as well, therefore the DBB name wouldn't have worked anyway.  I re-branded as an affordable boutique where you can still find affordable classic smocked dresses and monogrammed bows, along with game day and date night outfits for momma's as well.  Get this... EVERYTHING IS AROUND $30 OR UNDER!

I feel pretty good about this, I learned a lot about how NOT to do things while running DBB.  I have figured out a way where I am mostly hands off, so I still have the time to serve my family which is my first priority.

I don't have child items in just yet, but here is a sampling of what you might find

2. Poor Baby A was sick Tuesday night.  My little Adeline is not a tough girl... it was miserable for all involved.  I think she just had a little cold, that she has now passed to me and Gracie.  We will all be in pajamas all weekend long.

3. Before I had Adeline, I was certain both of my kids would always nap at the same time.  I don't know what kind of alternate universe I was living in, but that is rarely the case.  This is a Sunday afternoon scene.  GG rarely makes it though lunch without passing out

and Adeline is all smiles and ready to play

4.  I finally decorate for fall.  I scaled it back quite a bit this year since our house is on the market.  I didn't want it to look over cluttered.  In fact, I scaled back the entire house.  Our shed in the backyard is filled to the top with boxes and bags of stuff to sell in a garage sale!  I might just donate it all because I really don't want to mess with a garage sale.  We will see!  I didn't get a pic of the decor, but here is what I was left with after throwing out 75% of the rest.

5.  It's Friday, Fall TV is back on, and I can finally start making soups every other night again.  Can I get an AMEN!?!

Have a fabulous weekend! Linking here

disney on ice, the fair, my birthday, mud party {a september recap}

 This is a post to catch me up, we haven't had much going on as far as big events, just a little bit of this and that.

In September I started teaching the 2-3 year old Sunday School class at church.  They are good for my little heart.  It's tough to do, but these are the kids my kids are growing up with so it's worth it to me to help shape their little hearts

We went on a mud play date!

Sissy didn't play with mud, but she looked cute and played in the grass

We went to Disney on Ice.

Gracie loved it and kept saying "this is the best day eva!!"  She about died when she saw that she could take her picture with Belle!

She passed out afterwards!  Daddy carried her the TWO miles back to the car!

We didn't take Adeline with us because she's still a little too young, but she got to go on a date to dinner with mommy and daddy the night before!  She loves getting our undivided attention!

image (9)

but she loves her GG too!  She is a like a little rag doll to Gracie and Adeline just lets her do whatever.

We went to the fair, it was a total hot too!  Last year Gracie was scared of the carousel, but we had plenty of rides on it this year.  She took a turn with Mimi, momma, and daddy.

My birthday was also during September.  My sweet husband and girls pampered me, I even had time to paint my nails {myself, I will never have time to go to the salon again}

And I got a few new goodies too!  I love my little family and how they love to spoil me on my birthday!

This little girl is definitely two.  That's about all I can say.  She is sweet as sugar one day, then mean as can  be the next

Most of the time she is my sweet little doll baby though, we haven't had to deal with too many meltdowns.
