Layla's birthday

A few weeks ago was my niece Layla's THIRD birthday party!! I can't even believe she is three!! That tiny little cranky baby has turned into the cutest little girl with a big heart!

Uncle Jake with Miss Adeline

Birthday Girl!

I'm not sure Gracie is ever allowed back at McDonald's.  Every time I told her it was time to go she ran as fast as she could up into the playground thing.

Papa and Addie Belle

Candy pinata.  I'm fairly certain GG thought this was much better than Christmas.

Gracie understood it wasn't her birthday, but it didn't stop her from being front and center in front of the cake.  She may or may not have helped herself to some cake while we were singing "happy birthday".

Me and my "little" brother...

My sweet and beautiful girls!  I can't believe Layla is already THREE!! These little girls just grow too fast!

Pray for Oklahoma

Sunday and Monday deadly tornados ripped across my homestate of Oklahoma.  We barely missed the Sunday tornados but spent a lot of time in the cellar.  Besides being without electricity and water, we are fine and so very fortunate.

Monday afternoon, a deadly tornado made it's way through Moore, OK killing multiple people.

This is the saddest thing I have ever seen.  Children are wondering around aimlessly looking for parents, parents are calling out for children.  I can't even imagine.

An elementary school was leveled and there are still 40 missing students and teachers from that school.

This is the picture that was on the front page of the newspaper today.

Absolutely nothing was left of these neighborhoods.  I turned on the radio right when the newsman said "If you are not underground, you will not survive this".  Heartbreaking.

It is so encouraging to see the nation coming together in prayer for the survivors.  Please pray specifically for:

* Many more survivors to be found as the search and rescue mission continues
* Children and parents to be reunited
* Peace and comfort for the parents of the children who are still trapped inside that elementary school
* Strength and perseverance for the rescue workers
* Peace and comfort for those who lost everthing, including family members

Gracie Girl

You can't fool me I saw you when you came out
You got your mama's taste, but you got my mouth

You will always have a part of me
Nobody else is ever gonna see
Gracie Girl

With your cards to your chest, walking on your toes
What you got in the box, only Gracie knows

And I would never try to make you be
Anything you didn't really wanna be
Gracie Girl

Life flies by in seconds
You're not a baby, Gracie you're my friend

You'll be a lady soon
But until then, you gotta do what I say

You nodded off in my arms watching tv
I won't move you an inch even though my arms asleep

One day you're gonna wanna go
I hope we taught you everything you need to know
Gracie Girl

There will always be a part of me
Nobody else is ever gonna see
But you and me

My little girl
My Gracie Girl

Weekend Fun!

We had a great Mother's Day weekend!  I am so lucky to be the momma to my two sweet girls.  The Lord has ministered so much to me through them and i am so thankful that he entrusted them to me.  I also am very thankful that he gave me the momma that I have.  We are so blessed to have such a thoughtful and wonderful Nina!

I woke up Sunday morning to several cards from the girls, and one from Eric as well.  This card that my mom helped the girls make was so precious to me.

Look at those precious little flowers.  HAND PRINTS!!! I die.. this is so precious!

My mom asked Gracie a few questions about me and this is how she answered.  Sidenote:  Auntie A is what my niece calls me.  Gracie is always talking about "auntie a" to me, but she didn't act like she thought I was Auntie A.  I guess I know better now.... which kind of makes me mad when she will tell me that she "not like Auntie A".. She's a precious girl... but can be pretty ornery at times!

The girls and Eric got me a few things I have been asking for.  A 10 cup Hamilton Beach food processor...

And Anchor Hocking glass storage bowls and lids.  I picked up some of these a few months back and soon after I threw out all of my plastic containers.  Glass is the way to go, y'all!  It cleans up so much better and doesn't leave that dirty ring!

Here is my sweet baby after church.  The look on her face cracks me up!  She's like "not ANOTHER picture!!!"

This is what my life is these days... begging my two year old to take a picture with me.  She can't even be bribed into it these days... this is the best we got and this was in the midst of the bribery...

She loves to take pictures with her sister though.  Every time she gives her a kiss she tells me to take a picture.

Adeline doesn't have a choice though, she's just happy that momma holds her!  Don't mind that random stuffed duck behind me... that was left over from Gracie's bribe that didn't work.

Sweet Gracie Girl, she's getting so big!

her bishop dress was a little long, so it had to be tied up around her waist at play time!

attempted {and failed!} family picture

Saturday my mom, Adeline and I all went to a baby shower for my BFF.  She is due with a little girl {isabelle} on July 2.  It's so funny that we are best friends because we're so different in a lot of ways.  She is a self proclaimed hippie and that is a henna tattoo that she had painted on her stomach during the shower.  I passed on the henna... she rocked it though!  I think she's just glowing!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day.  The sermon at church focused on motherhood and how the best gift a mother can give her children is showing pure, genuine faith.  I pray that I always remember that my actions speak louder than my words, and I pray that I always set a good example for the little eyes that are constantly watching me.

Proverbs 31: 26-31
She speaks with wisdom,
and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
She watches over the affairs of her household
and does not eat the bread of idleness.
 Her children arise and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he praises her:
 “Many women do noble things,
    but you surpass them all.”
 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
Honor her for all that her hands have done,
and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.
